rear shocks on an 83 gti

hi guys, need some help, i cannot lay my hands on any rear shocks.  I need the fully closed, and the fully extended lengths if anyone can please help.. cheers..

hi, i spoke to them this morning.  All i need is the length of them for an air suspesion set up to be built for me.  they wouldn't help at all.. cheers anyway.. does anyone have one laying around that they could measure…cheers…

Surely you yourself have one, if you have a Mk1….? You'd need to remove then replace the strut to do the measuring. By sheer chance I think I have one lying around (I assume I have 2 somewhere), since the car's axle is removed, but I've not stripped them down to swap over to the new ones yet…and the new ones are gas, so I can only get the extended length!
