rear disc help

hey i jst got my new rear disc brakes today as a part of my conversion, fitted the bearings in the disc's and fitted them on the stub axel, then on to fit the caliper but it wont fit, the carrier are hitting the disc :(  anyone with any ideas why??

These are sliding calipers - are they sliding properly?

is it the carrier or caliper thats hitting? if its the caliper, have you wound the pistons in?

thanks lads! its the carrier thats hitting and the sliders work fine. its where you mount the carrier to the stub, but you cant the disc is to close if that makes any sence

Sounds like wrong caliper - let us know the part number and someone will confirm. The other possibility is the wrong disc is fitted, or its fitted wrongly ie bearings haven't been installed correctly or tightened up.

thank lads i think i worked it out! :)  its look like the bearings has been fitting wrongly ill take it back to the lad that fitted them tomoz.
and the came off a mk2 gti

should be fine then, sounds like as you say bearings not in quite right :)
