rear beam wonky

ive done search but didn't find anything so here goes. On my mk1 jetta the rear bean sticks out further on the drivers side, buy about 17mm.
is this a common problem as i know mk3s polos all seem to do it. im not a massive fan of 20mm spacers on one side and 3mm on the other lol.

ive had the beam off when i did the tank etc and it didn't have any signs of bentness.

or could it just be worn bushes? cheers peeps

17mm is massive you must have fitted something incorrectly . The brackets holding the beam are slotted slightly , you may have fitted off line ?

nothing to fit wrong 4 bolts to take axle off cant go back on wrong really. axle must have taken a wack at some stage in its life.
