Quick help needed RE: GSF Parts

Hi guys,

I need some quick help if possible! I haven't really done my homework with MK1's yet.

Basically my sister has an E reg (88?) GTI cabby which she's not long had. It's got a dodgy wheel bearing on the front near side which I am going to replace this weekend. I'm going to do both and whilst looking underneath I noticed the wishbones are pretty rusty and the bushes, ball joints etc don't look great so might as well replace this all at the same time.

I don't know though whether any of these parts underneath differ between any mk1 golf models? Below are the GSF items I've found so far, can someone please confirm these are all correct for her car.

42215  WISHBONE-FRONT    G1 >12/83    17.10 - x2

42441  BALL JOINT-BQ    G1 11/77 >12/83    8.90 - x2

41219K  WHEEL BEARING KIT-FRONT    G1 >12/83    12.15 - x1

(I realise that GSF bearings and bushes generally aren't the best and I always use OE on my corrado but these are more suited to her budget and she doesn't do a lot of miles in it really)

 :wink: All the above will fit [make sure the ball joints are the later 19mm ones] , you may need a press to change that bearing !

Good stuff! Yeah I don't have a press so I'm just taking the hubs off and then going down my local friendly garage to use theirs
