Problem with new rear brakes.

Hi all,

I've got a problem with my rear brakes.

Just been fitting new pads, springs and drums to the back of my 1992 Clipper and I don't seem to be able to get the drum back on properly.

I've pushed the adjuster all the way up and this makes no difference. I've checked that the springs are all correct.
As far as I can tell the pads are positioned correctly and the old drum slides on okay.
It's only matter on milimeters. I did manage to get it on but the drum pretty much stuck on the pads and doesn't spin without a lot of force.

Anyone got any advice on the refitting of this?

Thanks.

Force it on, refit the bearing and nut, then apply the brakes a few times - this will centre and align the shoes, and the auto adjuster will back off the shoes if needs be, leading to properly set up brakes.

You have backed off the handbrake cable??????
