Polo Mk3 coilovers fit a mk1 golf ???

I've been offered some coilovers from a MK3 polo, looking on wikipedia says they are macpherson strut based on the front but not semi- independent on the rear like the mk1golf is.

Can anybody tell me, will they still fit my MK1 ?

chudd, not quite right. the polo came with mcphereson fronts with the steering arm halfway up the strut and so the fronts aren't compatible.

Most of the kits use mk1 golf rear's with different springs.

so the back shocks will fit but the spring rates may not be good enough for the added weight of a mk1.


infact one of the polo forums had a group coilover buy with the caddy forum a while back as the caddy guys wanted the front shocks and the polo's wanted the backs lmao
