Polo gearbox
I have been away from the site for a while working hard!!!
A quick question for the technical / mechanics of the site.
I have just picked up a 1998 1.4 polo with a noisy gearbox, put some fluid into it and it came straight out of the bottom where the removable plate is!!! Is it worth stripping down or just replacing? Gearbox code is DKF.
If it's a replace job anybody got something suitable, or can they recommend what else would fit?
Thanks
Chris

Anyone can make a smart comment, which isn't helpful. You have reminded me why i don't bother with this site anymore.

Mistakes are mistakes mate i've made quite a catastrophic error recently myself. the important thing is that you won't do it again and if in doubt do a search on here or google or ask before you undertake a task because someone else will have come across the same thing at some point. NO ONE is faultless. Don't leave because of 1 comment as there will be a positive one along in just a post or 2
