please help gear problem

hi people i have a big problem i need some help with, the problem is when driving my 1989 golf convertible its a massive strugle to get it in any gear.  1st is the hardest, the clutch is really stiff and only pushes down alittle bit but the cable was only changed 1 month ago by a garage but the problem i have now is that when the engine is turned off it will go in any gear fine but when i turn on the engine on i cant get it in any gear so i am unable to drive it any ideas off anyone would be brilliant please help

Did the problem go away when the cable was last changed ?

the clutch has always be very short and hard to push down and the gears hard to get into but now i cant select any gear when the engine is on but i can when the engine is off

have you checked if there is any oil in the trany.

Fit a new complete clutch

Keep an eye on Ebay or use GSF car parts
