Pedal Slips !?

The accelerator pedal on my mk1 slips off the rod and goes loose, then has to be hooked back in wich can be quite fiddly.

This probably isnt a big problem but its quite an inconvenience < however thats spelt)!

It tends to do it when you put your foot flat to the floor? anyone heard of this happening because I would appreciate some advice on how to fix this?

Cheers!

From memory it needs a circlip to old it on, worth a try speaking to your VW parts department, they usually still carry stuff like that!

It is probably the rubber bung on its way out too - there is a rubber doughnut inside the hoop at the top end of the pedal, they wear out and slip off and you loose your pedal, get it sorted asap as its a bit scary when it comes off all the way :|

again GSF should have this

edit: sorry just remembered this is where the cable hooks on! worth checking though while your in the area!

My new company - Carbon Motive - I am setting up as we speak so be nice….

You just need to get a new rubber donut that goes at the top of the pedal mate, you can get a diesel version which comes with a c clip, a new rubber on its own works wonders though
