New Mk1 GTI owner! Suspension info needed plz.

Hi everyone,
This is my first ever post…Below is my recently purcased Mk1 Golf GTI Cabriolet.
I just wondered if anyone could help me with lowering information. Ive ordered
some adjustable coilovers that will go as low as -120mm, ive just checked the wheels
and theyre 15's (195/50/R15). How much could i lower the car without the wheels rubbing?
Any info would be great thanks

How low you go without the wheels rubbing is a hard one…

What offset are the wheels??

Just keep on lowering a bit at a time until you find out, then raise it a little, probably dont want to go too low as it will put a lot of strain on other running gear, 60mm should be ok if its a daily!!

Thanks for that…Im not sure what the offset is, is this easy to alter?
The car is used daily, i was hoping to get around -60mm to -80mm.
Im going to get a garage to fit them so i could just tell them to fine
tune it for me.
