New Brake Setup

Ok im after some guidence and opinions and views on different brakes for my Mk1
It currently runs GTI brakes, (vented disk & Callipers) and im unsure on pads
Im basically replacing the lot so i know when its been done…

The master cylidner is shot, so could it be worth upgrading to a 16V one? and Servo? if so how would i go about doing this?
Also what disks to get, im not exactly stopping majour power but a 1.3 polo engine :P
So standard disks?
But id like decent pads? Which im unsure of
and also braided hoses is it worth the £50?

Would appreciate different views!
Thanks Luke

Hi

I'm Running new VW11 calipers on the cabrio with vented drilled/grooved discs (bought direct from a manufacturer on e bay) and stock pads.

Have run pagid fast road pads in the past, they were ok.

you need to remember that some performance pads are poor when cold, not ideal for a road car!

As for braided hoses, they work better due to the pipe not being able to expand when under pressure. I have them on my car. Not knowing the price difference between them and rubber ones, i'd say go for the steel ones if you can afford them.

Hope this helps dude.

Projekt Frustration :

White 1991 Clipper. Lowered over polished zender rims, Single 40 dellorto on lynx manifold, kent cam, full stainless 'zorst / manifold, powerflex bushed and braced. Not the fastest car, but sounds super nice!

Still going after 12 years… never said it was a quick fix! Time is not my friend.
