mk2 16v brake servo upgrade.

Which Passat one? If its the one I'm thinking of, they're the same part.

If its the same servo, ie the 9" one, then you can use either master cylinder with it. People often give the recommendation to use a new master cylinder anyway, they're not that expensive and you have the reassurance the part is good and the seals are fresh. These days with parts consolidation etc, GSF and the likes will sell the "2 outlet" as a 4 outlet with 2 blanking plugs.

If the engine is a 16V then you need the 4 outlet and blank off the 2 on the right, due to the dizzy being in the way.

By the way, the 9" servo on Mk2 Golf/Passat doesn't work with the Mk1 Golf master cylinder, because the plunger goes into a different depth. So you need to fit both together, not one or the other.

Thanks for your help paul, think I got a bit confused (doesnt take much),  will price up for new before looking for a second hand set.

i got second hand mk2 16v hubs, carriers, calipers ,servo n m.c. , but now ive learned the mk2 carriers are different n will my stuff fit at all ?

calipers will fit if you get scirocco 16v or early square audi 80 carriers

will have to look sometime i can face a £150 disappointment better
