Mk1 Master Cylinder - Mk2 Servo??????

I thought I found a Mk1 servo but when it turned up it was the 9" for the Mk2.

Can I just slap the Mk1 master cylinder on that servo???

I don't want to do the upgrade just yet as I just finished fitting all new brake pipes before my servo went bang.

Man! I hope someones gonna cheer me up.  This problem has been going on for a month and I really need to MOT the bagoshite and give it a shake down.  If the car turns out to be a good un I'll be doing the full show resto next summer.

Cheers

You can't fit the MK1 master to the MK2 9" servo sorry !

can i not just turn up an adaptor to take up the space between the rod and the bit that pushes the master cylinder?  I can make it interference fit and loctite it in.

If you where going to do that wouldnt it be easier to fit the correct master cylinder or to source the correct servo, if you use this servo make sure you trim 10mm off the threaded rod and use the fork from your old servo

I have been desperately trying to source the right servo, which is obsolete, ending up in the situation I'm in now.  I don't want to do the 16V upgrade.  I just want a new version of the right servo or, because the retards at the parts place don't know what the feck they are up to, mod the fecking mk2 one with a spacer to get the brakes to work.

I have already cut 10mm off the shaft but there is a 15-20mm gap between the push rod and master cylinder which I want to bridge with a spacer.  I need to know if the mk2 servo has enough grunt in the spring to stop the brakes coming on under vacuum or whether I'm bashing my b0ll0x against a wall for no reason.

I don't want to pump any more money into this bagoshite Campaign with 28k miles on the clock.

Body is mint but running gear is w@^ked!

I have built loads of dubs but FFS I am sick to feckin death of this car, it's costing me an arm and a leg and was going to be my last project but I'm seriously thinking of burning the thing and building a fecking submarine or something that you can actually find parts for.

whoops. got *CENSORED*

SORRY!

What I meant to say was that I am deeply unhappy with the fact that my car is immobile due to it's current situation.  It's a crying shame that the part I need is no longer available.

The car is still a *CENSORED* *CENSORED* *CENSORED* *CENSORED* *CENSORED* *CENSORED*

You have had several offers of the correct servo on here, i would be inclined to make things simple for yourself and go with that rather than go down this route only to find its a no go

You're probably right  :redfaced:

I'm just reluctant to put another second hand one on only to find it go bang like the other.
