Mk1 Golf turbo gearbox problem

Hello,

I have a Mk1 golf with a Mk4 1.8 Turbo engine converstion. I have used a mk2 16v gearbox which has failed for the second time. I understand that the best gearbox to use is the Mk4 1.8 Turbo, 02J 5 speed cable change box.
What I'm not sure about is that different 02J boxes have different codes, EVS, ECW for example.
Does anyone know which one I should use? Any suggestions on clutch/flywheel assembly would be great too!

02A flywheel with VR6 clutch.

I'm doing the same. Using 02j. They come with 108mm or 100mm diff fanges.
Mine was 108 but got some mk4 tdi flanges that use 100mm and bolt stright in.
