Mk1 back gearbox mounting help.....

The back mount for my gearbox is lose and on its way out, cant get into 1st at times was curious to know if there is any site where you can get stronger gearbox mounts than the factory ones…..

You mean apart from eBay? This came up about a week ago, I can't find the thread though. Someone else was asking about where to obtain uprated rear mounts from.

hope there is somewhere cos i need to get some ASAP will carry on looking on the net i guess

The diesels had a stronger one, GSF used to sell them. Unless you like the vibration I would avoid anything with urethane in the description.

I think there was someone recently, who struggled to buy one from GSF and they were out of stock? (But don't quote me on this). Yes basically, a diesel rear mount is a 'compromise' solution between the increased vibration and the benefits of having more solid mounts - namely less engine movement during standing starts which means you can set off/launch more aggressively before losing traction.
