mark 2 disc brakes, will they work ??

i have a complete rear beam for a mark two, will the hubs and disc brakes bolt straight onto the rear of my mark one, do i have to change handbrake cables ??

This has been covered loads of times on here, simple enough swap, debate on whether they perform any better or are needed with so little weight in the back end, perhaps just for cosmetics. Need to use 16v scirocco cables but these are easily available
