Lowering my Y REG 1.1
I want to lower my golf tintop. however I dont want to loose any of the ride comfort. Does anyone have any sugestions?
Also my shocks absorders are Getting to the extent where i realy do have to replace them. Can you give me a heads up on makes/types ect that are good quality or that will improve the ride and handling?

I am just about to lower mine from standard to -35mm which is pretty average I think and I am sure it will be much harder especially with the state of the roads and the speed ramps
Lots of people put on coilovers so they can adjust their ride heights and my car came slammed on them but I removed them straight away.
There is no easy answer everyone has there own opinions and some put look over comfort and others do the opposite :dontknow: :dontknow: :dontknow:
Venom motorsports have a good website where you can put the make and model of car in and then choose all types of suspensions from full kits, coilovers, lowering springs, dampers etc.
Cheers Chris

on my mk1 cabby i had boge oil shcks and std gti springs and it handled absolutely awesome, so much so i didn't want to risk ruining it by fitting the lowering kit I bought!

What springs did you go for? My ride is way too firm even with large wall tyres and I am looking to change them. Your cabby looks like the perfect height, is the ride ok?

Dan the ride is fine obviously firmer but not harsh, everyone has their own opinion on what is harsh but I have had far worse on modern cars! The suspension is a JOM one that I bought of here second hand but only covered a few miles and I am delighted with it.
The BMW is great, the wife had an Audi A6 so I needed a smaller car just for me really and it ticked all the boxes, got the winter wheel and tyre package thrown in for nothing as well so it will hoefully drive in snow??
