Lowered suspension

Hi

I recently purchased a 1983 Mk 1 VW golf GX, which has been lowered by way of lowering caps/strut mounts at the front and lowering springs to the rear.

It looks great parked up but is terrible to drive.

I used to own a bog standard GX. The ride with the standard suspension was fine although the handling could have been a little sharper.

Therefore, I was wondering if anyone knew of a suspension kit, which would give similar ride comfort to the original set up but with a lowered appearance.

I could live with a slightly firmer ride than a standard GX but the way it is at the moment I?m in fear of leaving my exhaust on every speed bump I go over!

I am on a budget and as this is a do-once mod I cannot afford to make the wrong decision so any advice on my options would be greatly appreciated.

you could just fit gti springs and shocks this will lower the car about 10mm still giving you a decent ride and at a better ride

I did consider this but wanted to weigh up other suspension kit options.
