Knocking and wandering steering ?

Hello everyone,

I have just bought a 1993 Clipper and was wondering if anyone can tell me why i have a clunk when turning steering  left to right and when driving i feel that the steering is very poor and a clunk is felt through the steering wheel. There is no play that i can feel any ideas???

Maybe steering gear worn? It can be adjusted although you need to be double jointed!

Haynes manual tells you how but locking adjuster nut/bolt on back of steering gear.
