1992 Sportline

This is for all cabby owners running standard suspension. As you may know the back of the car tends to sit a little lower than the front and this is partly due to worn and compressed shock absorber mounts. There are two that are fitted per side with the smaller one sitting at the top
The pair on the right are the removed ones and although the smaller of the two looks ok the larger one looks as though its taken a hammering.
I reckon they are originals so have done pretty well considering.
Will take pics of the ride height once everything is back together and I have purchased a new spring cap (lower pic) as its completely shot!!!

OMG! You can really see the difference there. Obvious now why the rear sits different.

Good tip for all, cheers ;)

Now you tell me Andy. Ive just fitted coilovers on my wifes cabby because the back was sat right down and the front sitting higher
But your right.  I took a new lower rubber bush from an old set of gti rears that I had lying because the one that was fitted was squashed.

First Golf, lots of work. I've started so I'll finish!

Popped to the dealers to collect a replacement spring top cap and out of interest asked how many vw had in stock…..5 came the answer and then they'll be obsolete!!!
So I've bought another to replace the other side.
I can think of only vw heritage that sell pattern items so get your genuine ones before they're gone!
