JOM Coilovers trying to bounce me through the roof!
Just bought some brand new JOM coilovers, and fitted them to my mk1. I have had budget coilovers before like TA technics and other ebay ones etc. and these JOM coilovers are not as nice handling at all! They are rock solid and they arent even lowered right down.
Anyone on here experienced this on their mk1's with JOM's?? do they soften over time? or are all JOM coilovers as poop as mine?
Let me know what you think!

Over time they settle and feel softer as I found out when I had to wind them up some more after about a month.

Just fitted some hot tuning TA technics i got new from their ebay page, rides nice and forgivving, bit firmer than my lowering springs but at the price of 180 quid delivered, cant grumble, theyre well worth the money, just hope the rubbers last plenty long enough, might be worth a try mate if you can?
See i told you that the TA's were good for the money.

Mates got jom on a polo, same mate stiff as hell. Budgets aren't ever 'comfy' are they?
Correct Cheap suspension just hasn't had the same development put into their materials/design as the better named brands. Its the same whether they be coilovers, shock/springs sets, or springs on their own. If they're cheap, they won't be comfy and they won't handle great…

I think they have softened over time, but then again I might have gotten used to them?
I did wind them back up a month or so ago and the ride was softer, but its not too bad.

Mine (hot tuning) are a mare when the car has been stood a few weeks, once run a day or to they get better.
End of the day, you get what you pay for!
Projekt Frustration :
White 1991 Clipper. Lowered over polished zender rims, Single 40 dellorto on lynx manifold, kent cam, full stainless 'zorst / manifold, powerflex bushed and braced. Not the fastest car, but sounds super nice!
Still going after 12 years… never said it was a quick fix! Time is not my friend.

I bought Hot Tuning ones and was under the impression they came out the same factory as JOM and Racelands etc.
They do soften up as the day goes on.
Unless of course, I'm adjusting my driving to suit?
Corners are much better now and can even put the power down through the corners which I couldn't do before.
I suggest giving them a couple of weeks, maybe raise them a touch too?
And Remember, Big Smile!! Biiiig Smile!!!
