Is this a 16v Brake Servo ?

Hi Everyone,

I am just in the process of doing the brake upgrade on my car, I have the correct 16v master cylinder which i got new from GSF, and I bought this servo off of ebay a while ago, it doesn't look any bigger than the original servo on my car (79 GTI). Can anyone tell me if its the correct 16v item by the part number: 192 612 105C  ???

Many thanks
Kev

All Mk2 servo's are the same size, it's the master cylinder that's the difference.

I was thinking about getting a 22cm master cylinder

where can I get the reservoir from?

I have removed my old servo tonight and all is good, the old one is 8" new one is 9" and the clevis pin fitting is different as described in the upgrade guide.

I now am looking for the 16v mc resevoir and also a different vaccuum pipe or at least the connection that goes into the servo, my old servo has a metal pipe coming out of it, new one has a hole with rubber seal so obviously needs a push fit connector.

Cheers
Kev

Any MK2 at a breakers will yield these parts . You can still buy master cylinder reservoir from VW dealers about ?28.00 .

try to fit your old one on and then the mk2 16v master cylinder onto the servo and see the difference

not true, all 1.8 servos are the same, plus auto and diesel. 1.6 and below MK2s have a 7" servo

to the OP, yes thats a 9" servo part number :)

So the standard GTI reservoir won't fit a 22mm master cylinder?

Doh! I've been hunting down all the bits for the conversion, and i thought i'd cracked it! New reservoir is on the list now then i guess!

nope it the wrong shape!  luckily any MK2 reservoir will do, regardless of the size of mc fitted. only one that wont work is G60/Rallye ABS/cable shift ones, iirc they have an extra fitting on the side
