i thought it was to good to be true.

Ive had my golf a month, runs great. today changed oil and changed gearbox oil.

I undone the gearbox drain plug at bottom, and started to poor in the fresh stuff. I waited for it to come out the bottom drain plug but nothing was coming out. So a poored in some more. I then noticed it dripping from the clutch plate. Must be dripping higher up and then down. I didnt spill any so i know it hasnt just come from there.

Is there a overflow, or do i have a problem.

Where exactly did you pour in the new oil? I've not done myself as garage did for me, but from memory the fill plug is on the side just like the drain plug?

Easy mistake to make is the plastic cap/plug on top of the bell housing near fly wheel.

I'd say that's a deffinate!

Yeah - Oil goes in the side of the box, you really need a gearbox oil "Pump" to do it properly, or a funnel and a piece of hose or something!

The car survived, been running for a few days and i think its all drained out now. No difference to before. Did slip to start with. O well thats one thing i wont be doing again, and will deff get a haynes manual.
