how much for 020 gearbox recon?

thinking of getting mine reconditioned, just wondered how much people have paid!?

just paid 200 knocked him down from 270

Wow. That's cheap. I paid £700. Is was completely mangled though.

Midland VW do them for about £400

Parts alone for a rebuild come in at £300, thats a set of 5 synchros from VW, VW diff bolts, needle bearings, clutch finger, end cap, new planet gear sleeve, ebay bearing kit, and a few other odds and ends.
Now work out what you haven't got in a £200 rebuild
Safe to say it's had a quick look over, a clean, and put back together in near enough the same condition as when it came out.

Yup they are trade prices for the VW stuff, otherwise it can work out quite costly.
VW prices seem to be going up and up, and although you can get some stuff off ebay, some of it is complete crap.
Just a quick point to make, I'm at no way advertising on here, just giving my 2 cents worth on box rebuilds and what you'd get for your money. There's faaaaaar to many people paying good money and getting ripped off with jetwashed boxes.
