horn wont stop

Please can someone help? just got cabbie out of barn to get ready for mot  tried to get horn working properly off the steering wheel buttons but have found that when connected up the bottom of steering wheel is earthing on the screws which hold the indicator stalk on the steering coluem. is there a spacer or something missing? any help gratefully recived. ps it worked off a push button on the dash before, now i know why!

Hi mate,
there is a tab that is just supposed to make contact on the horn ring, but these get pressed down and they get stuck on the screw that hols the indicator stalk assembly in place.
You need to take the steering wheel off and bend the tab back upwards.
Then  place some insulation tape over the bottom screw. I placed a small rubber o ring over the tab to stop it from being pressed back down.

Thanks for that i will try it but i have a feeling the steering wheel will rip the tape off as its almost touching the screws as it is

Then you probably have the stopper that sits on the steering rack too far down. its the black ring, pull that further up and then bend the tab for the horn up and there you go
