Help, will these D90's fit straight on my sportline ??

Sorry for showing my stupidness but will these D90's with the adapters go sraight on my mk1 with no issues.

They are D90'S staggered 7j and 8j with 20mm and 25mm adapters with 195-45-16 tyres on.

My car is only lowered -35mm so I dont see a problem but I am not the best in the wheel dept.

im not wheels expert either mate but in my brief dealing of putting wheels on me golf i cant see these being a problem, my lensoz's are 7j wide and people seem to be running from that to 9j wide !

the adapters sound like they should bring the wheels out perfectly to fill the arches and look right, as i have just bought some with 20mm spacers. Also i was planning on putting 195 40 16's or 195 45 16's on them

i cant see a 35mm drop being a big problem, you may wana go with a 195 40 16 tyre as if i am thinking right thay might mean the tyre is more likely so sit inside the wheel arch when you go over a bump then just and tap the arch itself, but 35mm drop is probably spot on with 16's ?

I am pretty sure that they will be fine but as I keep spending a fortune my wife is not amused and as I already have 2 sets of bbs ra's she thinks Im just a ******  

The D90's are painted the same as the sportline bbs wheels, black faced with a silver lip so I think they will be cracking looking spares.

I wont change the tyres or at least not tell the wife about changing them later or I will be Bobbited, as I have my gearbox going in next week for a rebuild and then fitting which she is already moaning about. Thank god she is a good cook( not )

Yesterday it was powdercoated gearbox mounts from CQ's for my rebuild and tofay it was a lights warning relay and maybe the wheels.

What does tomorrow bring………………………………..

p.s wheels are an investment, they are never gona go down in price lol, just tell the mises they are real rare ones and they will only go up in price :-)

just type rare and vw into ebay and let her look at some of the stuff people have listed and she should be well up for you buying wheels then :-)

such a nice set of wheels and you dont see many mk1's with them, well yours and mine now mike (good taste and all that) :-)

Scary thing is i had to pick them up from london and conviniently ended up with an appointment in london in my diary as well ha ha

where did you get your from mike private sale or is there a shop selling new ones for that bargain price?

i just need to decide what i am doing with inserts whether to paint them and what colour or back to polished, and then give the rest of the wheels a polish :-)

 I never got to see the D90's last night as the owner never got back to me until 2100hrs and I think they are still on their car which is not very clever as I want to see them and poss buy them then take them away ??

So prob going to give it a miss now and as I dont need a third set of wheels anyway it will keep my good lady of my back so that I can get the gearbox started next week  :wink:

then the mirrors and skirts painted

then a full paint correction detail

then…………………………………

sounds fair enough mate, if your selling wheels you need to have a spare set for car to go on, or the wheels be off really ?

i know what you mean with your list, its hard to stop
