having problems getting it into gear..

one thing after another

Right this time i cant get the thing in gear, as i found out at a set of traffic lights turning green! It eventualy went into first but felt like i was going to snap the gear leaver in half, it has felt sloppy for about a week. Not only that, i think it may also have something to do with the clutch? my foot was to the floor, and when i manged to get home smoke was coming from behind the inlet manifold/ where the clutch cable is…but couldnt find where it was coming from….

there was a loose bolt which holds the manifold onto the block though sorted it now…could this be where the smoke was coming from?


any ideas? easy fix?

i'd try adjusting the clutch cable first, i had a similar problem recently. I ended up changing the gearbox oil, but in fact i think it was really just the clutch cable nuts needed a tighten. works great now.
