grinding noise turning right HELP

hi  new to the site and have just bought my first vw , a 91 gti cabby ,great car but has a problem ,when i got it thought i would get the brakes all done so off to the local motor factors and got the relevant front pads ,after changing them i now have a very loud grinding sound from the drivers side when turning right ,didnt do it before and only does it turning right ,any ideas anyone .  great site and i hope this is the start of my vw addiction  cheers jay

You did something wrong if the noise wasn't there before ?
Did you fit the brake pads correctly ? You may have bent the splash guard or have a seized caliper  .

I would take them off again and look .
