Gearbox

Hi All
Had the 'bushes' in the gearbox replaced because I was having trouble with 1st (hard to get into) and a little bit of 'play' with the gear stick, (all the others are ok), gearbox improved but now having trouble again with the 1st (hard to get into) and 1st/reverse (sometimes). Is the next 'fix' to replace the linkages or do you think like in other posts, 'lining up' everthing. Most important….how much are the replacement linkages….and who does them??
As always, help appreciated.

TC,

Best bet is to fully inspect the linkage with some one moving the gearstick so you can identify any play.  Replace any worn parts - GSF do all the bits you'll probably need.

There is a spline on the front end of the gear stick shaft onto which the mech bolts onto.  The relationship of this spline to the mech can sometimes cause problems selecting reverse and first.  Move it one tooth on the slpine and see if it improves.  Continue eather way intil it feels right.

Have fun!

Cheers
