Have you bench tested the starter motor ?

it could be the solanoid sticking, is it a clunk or a click ?

right swopd the starter with my other spare still does it, tryed bump starting it down the road and it didnt start it kinda lockd up it didnt kangaroo like they normal do when u bump it, u know like as u can feal the engine turning, it just kinda sharply but wheels didnot lock up to a stop

didnt remove the clutch i left that alone as it is a new clutch, could it be the wrong clkutch for the gearbox? or do you think its the gearbox?

Do you know the gearbox was working before you installed it? :dontknow:

Jack one of the front wheels up off the ground and use a socket to on the crank pulley to turn the engine over when its in gear. The wheel off the ground should turn. If you can't turn the engine over somethings jammed :dontknow:

1987 Alpine White 1.8 Clipper Cabriolet

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

Is the box off the Mk2 the right fit?

Does the starter motor actually engage and line up with the flywheel?
