GEARBOX PROBLEM! right in middle of the job ahhh!

hi all just took old gear box out my 1983 1.8 8v gti tin top campaign…… put the new one in but the parrts where the drive shafts go in are a different size!!!!! am so stuck, its my daily runner :( lol. and my chap will need his garage space back tomorrow damn it.

how can i source new drive shafts ( i guess it will be a lot easier doin it that way)

any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Just to say, swapped the flanges and box fitted in :) slight whine but hey, think coz the replacement box is from a cabriolet but not 100% sure. Just have to find somewhere where I can get my 1.8 8v gti gearbox re furbished now…. If anyone knows that would be awesome :)
