gearbox oil seal

The gearbox oil seal that sits on the input shaft on my 1.8 gti is leaking, does anyone know where I might get a new one? I've tried Vw and my local motor factors without any joy.

vw do sell them still, as does GSF. i assume you mean the big radial seal around the outside of the input shaft inside the bell housing? dont forget to buy a new brass bush and pushrod seal. gsf do these too. can buy here too:
http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/autogearshop

and help on how to do the job here:
