Gearbox Change Question...

Hello all I'm newie on here and am currently looking for MK1 Cabriolet. I've found a really nice Clipper for sale but the only problem is it's an automatic which doesn't really apeall to me. Is it possible to swap from an auto box to a manual one and if so has anyone on here done it? I've no real idea how much work would be involved or if it would be practical (cost wise) to do? Finally are there any specialists who would be able to do the swap for me if I decided to go ahead? I'm in the Midlands area btw? Thanks in advance
