my mk1 is not allowing me to get into 1st or 2nd, sometimes it goes in perfectly, then  randomly it wont go in, then other times it will with force, or it misses 1st and goes into reverse.

also what ever gear i am in, the gearstick is very loose and you can move it around loads whilst its stil in gear?

the gearbox was rebuilt (still under warrenty) at xmas, with a new clutch. some bushes were also replaced, i really want to drive my car in the sunshine, please can some one help?

what is my problem and how should i go about fixing it please.

thanks very much

jason

Hi no you don't have to take the gearbox out, there's a guide on the left panel under technical (gearchange linkage) it's probably one of the most common faults when selecting 1st and you get reverse. Cheers Baz

Hi it might be worth contacting crazyquiff as I know the original bush fitted is a kind of cream colour so it might be in the kit but may not be red but i'm sure he could give you the full story, hope this helps Baz
