gear linkage help needed!

iv converted my 1.1 to 1.8 16v with a 5speed AUG box..iv got the gearlever mounted and the linkages sorted on the box but the levers just stuck to the right and wont let me select any gears..its catching on the black cradle thingy underneath and it dosnt seem to work however much i adjust it…any ideas???

This is a mechanical change box, not cable?

Sounds like you have just mis-aligned the splines on the end of the push rod where it connects to the "Box" section that houses the rubber ball - Know where I mean?

yeh i know what you mean,il hav another go 2mrw..i noticed that the gear stick was a bit bent in a couple of places..is that normal???

I think the stick is straight (Mine was a little bent as it originally came out of a scirocco and I hammered it straight!). It shouldn't make a difference though, as long as the linkage parts are straight…
