G60 Steel Wheels

Just wondered how many people on here use them? I am considering a set to use all year round and keep the originals safe from our horrible British roads.

Do they rust quickly? Is there anyway to treat them to prevent any rust? Are they strong enough for our roads?

If anyone could shed any light I would be grateful.

       i think they are best wheels for the mk1 bud.
Mine are all year runners also.
What i learnt is when you buy them new they are not laquered so when they get chipped you will get very very slight rust spots.
I have on mine but not bothered as i will for sure next summer respray them in the exact paint colour.
had mine for approx 3 year now and honestly will never buy any other type of wheel or alloys as i feel they suit the mk1 perfect.
Easy to clean, which on that note i would advise if your mad like me every few month remove the wheels and clean the inside of rims also.
But to to protect them laquer them first i would suggest.

What lacquer would you use? Any other rust prevention I can try? Some sort of bilt hamber product?
