front struts

ive just fitted two new front inserts from GSF part no 45547 (cofap) and two new top mounts again from GSF to my GTI.The car is sitting noticably higher at the front,even though i used the existing springs, which seems strange.
Any ideas?

If I read this post right -
I had the same when I replaced the fronts on the GTI - replacing the rears as well, and the rubber mounts too, evened things up (cheap and easy to do). You THINK the car sits higher after replacing all the bits, but IMO the old bits were so past it, new parts return everything to normal.

Make sure your camber then tracking is set up correctly AFTER doing the reas as well.
