front brake options

I have vecra b 1.6 front callipers with mk2 golf GTI discs fitted and tbh they are far too strong as i already have mk2 golf 9" servo and 22mm master cylinder.
The callipers are far too big as i cant fit anything smaller than a 14" wheel over them. But i ideally would like 13" wheels.
What callipers would be a straight swap ie, from what vehicle and what size discs would i need for me to be able to fit 13" wheels

PS I think some Polo models had similar/same brakes as the Mk1 Golf. Mk2 Golf are different. In theory, lesser Vauxhall models will also have similar (since the upgrade you have, is also in demand for modifying Vauxhalls) but I don't know which model or variation you'd need to seek out. Might be Corsa or Astra but don't know years or models, and don't know brake pipe fittings. Hence, the standard Mk1 Golf stuff is the easiest to recommend. There should be a reasonable supply since others upgrade their brakes.

Il swap you a set of 239's with discs and pads and goodridge hoses for em then you can have 13's

mk2 golf VWII calipers are same as mk1 golf vwii 1.5-1.8 239mm calipers, also find these on many other VW/SEAT right up to 2000 reg. our seat ibiza 1.4 still has the old VWII calipers! main thing is to check the flexi connection as i think the most modern versions are banjo rather than straight threaded fittings.

however you'll still need caliper carriers from mk1 golf vwii 1.5-1.8 and also mk2/3 polo with vwi/ii

all mk1s 1.5-1.8 had vwii calipers from around 1979 onwards
