Electric hood faulty-hydraulics ?

Hi, new here and have just bought a '91 Golf Cabriolet. The hood works erratically, sometimes its ok, other times nothing.
just checked the pump and the hydraulic fluid is a little low. Does anyone know what fluid i need to buy and where i fill it up from?

The hydraulic oil level is ok now. Get a different reading when the hood is up or down, so it was ok. Seems to be working more often than not but still not all the time. Have to get the electrics checked out i think.

Does anyone have or know where i can get an instruction manual/vw owners handbook for a cabriolet?

I have one, what do you need to know?

Nothing specifically,  it would just be nice to have some sort of info on the car.
Ideally, i was looking to buy a vw owners manual for a cabriolet or a haynes manual. Just missed a vw owners manual for a cabriolet on ebay but it wasn't for an electric hood, manual version only.
