driveshaft / cv compatability????

i have a late model convertible (j reg) with the late gti driveshafts. i aslo have a 1.3 driver. can the driveshafts be swopped from one car to the other without having problems with the cv to hub shaft being different? i am swapping gearbox an engine but not hubs if i can help it. i want to put the convertible driveshafts into the driver?

Yeah that shound work just fine, GTI engine and gearbox with shafts and original driver hubs! Its been done loads of times before!

if itsd a late cabby they may not fit, as the 100mm driveshaft outser CVs were a bit larger the hubs were clearanced to fit. its much easier to just swap the driveshafts over with the hubs attached anyway, dont need to worry about loosening the uber tight centre nut.

other option is to gringd the hubs to give you the required clearance
