driveshaft advice?

hello i have had a search but cant seem to pull much info specific to what im looking for?
 I have a mk1 running an ABF with a std mk2 16v gearbox (is it an 020?) i have coilovers on it and it will be running low! i find the driveshafts are putting to much pressure on the cv joints and breaking the cages  i have the mk1 GTi shafts with 100mm joints (i think not 100% will check) so my question is; is there another shaft out there i can run that is slightly shorter, i had heard that a scirocco GT2 shaft is shorter but cant find info about it? any help would be great as i am really close to having the beast out and chasing plastic cars :twisted:  cheers Graeme
