drive shaft flanges and lenghs

just got a new 020 box out of a mk2 and the driveshaft flanges are larger (100mm up from 80mm i believe)  so i grabbed the driveshafts aswell.

but…as some of you would have most likly been able to tell me; mk2 driveshafts are longer than mk1 shafts

so my question being, can i get some shorter driveshafts that will fit my mk1 but also fit the larger flanges on the new box i have?  The shafts i got with the box are only ever so slightly too long, and only on the driver side (longer shaft of the 2)

cheers guys

You will need some 100mm driveshafts from a late Cabby/Scirocco 16v. They come up for sale on here all the time.
Or you can change the flanges on your gearbox back to 90mm then you can use your old driveshafts (I think, I've never done it but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong!!)

I swapped the flanges on the g/box over as the larger mk1 drive shafts seemed expensive, they were very tight though and a good strong puller was required
