Differential oil seal replacement

Guys

I wonder if someone could advise how easy these these are to replace?  The inner CV to diff on the nearside is leaking gearbox oil and I want to sort this ASAP.  Any advice or pointers would be great.

Cheers

hi,i renewed mine recently, not an easy job without tools for reassembly (squashing a big spring)
remove the driveshaft
flick out the rubber cap in the center of the drive flange
compress the flange to overcome the huge spring behind the flange
remove circlip
remove compressor tool
pull off or extract the flange
replace seal
put flange back on by compressing the huge spring again
refit circlip
fit new oil seal cap refit driveshaft

i made a tool for this basically a flat bar 15mm wide with a 10mm hole in and bent it,had to weld high tensile bolts to the bar to give it more strength, there is a thread in gearbox spline to allow the use of bolts,
my flanges were really tight on the splines, but ive done others and they pop off

here read this too

Guys, where do you buy the seal from?  I've contacted my local VW dealer who claims they are obsolete??

Anyone know which size of seal will be fitted to a 1991 GTI Sportline?
