differences in 4/5speed gearbox clutch tube thingys

basically im doing a 5speed conversion and the 5speed 020 FD mk1 GTi box has its clutch bar thing missing, but the 4speed one is too small, has anyone got one for sale or know that they defiantly are too small???

The linkage that bolts inside the car is different,as are the selector rods that pop onto the gearbox itself.

i know about the linkage bars etc, its the actual clutch operating shaft thing on the inside of the gearbox which is the problem.
the thing inside the actual box which pushes the clutch back and forth, is the 4speed one smaller? cos when i stuck it in the 5speed box (becasue it didnt have one in it!!!) the bar didnt even stick out 1mm whan the clutch arm was pulled up, which must mean that the 5spee ones have a longer clutch operating bar thing.

has anyone got a spare????
need the long style on asap.
