diagrams of gearbox mount locations (golf 1 & 2) pics/di

can anyone help

i need some diagrams or pictures of the differing locations of the gearbox mount locations for mk1 and mk2 golfs please

ie how they are different between 1 and 2, auto and manual

if u are asking why…its cos i think the gearbox mount is in the wrong place for my 16v conversion i have planned…mine is auto atm (soon to be manual) but the mount is at the front of the engine bay….

i think it needs to be at the back

On the Mk1 there are 4 mounts: engine (right), and transmission front side and rear. On the mk2 there's 3 mounts: front, rear right and rear left. Those rear pair are onto a suspension subframe and the front is onto a crossmember which is removeable. ie its completely different to the Mk1.

Auto or manual doesn't make any difference for the mounts on the bodywork. Different mounts are present on the transmissions though.
