Confused!! Please advise!!
Hi there,
I just wondered when buying wheels what is the j part all about i know the wheels on my car are 7J fronts and 8J rears! Is this the width of the wheel? And if im running them at the moment with no issues would there be any problems going to 8J and 8.5J Im confused!!
Also if they say 7J x 13 H3 What is the H3 bit all about??
Thanks in advance
Andy

7j 8j etc.. are the width of your wheels in inches
its the ET number you have to worry about this is the offset
for example et 10 will poke out loads where as an et40 will not
im sure there is plenty of detailed info on the net about wheels sizes and spacing
if your wheels are 7 x 15 et35 for example
a 7 x 15 et20 will stick out 15mm more
hope this helps

The J is the code of the shape of the rim. Its a standardisation to allow wheel manufacturers and tyre manufacturers to make stuff that will fit and work together (ie the tyre can withstand a small side impact without popping off the rim). I dunno about H2 or H3 though.
