Clutch pedal hitting steering column !

When I press the clutch pedal right down, it just catches the joint on the steering column…!  :?

Am I missing something, is there supposed to be a stopper there ?

Thanks
Marc

I would say your cable needs adjusting , too much slack is causing the pedal to go to the floor .
Good advice on how to do it in your Haynes manual .

Hope this helps you

Still haven't got one!  Will have to get one tomorrow!!

Thanks Chudd, although I wouldn't have thought that it would be just the cable that would stop the pedal going all the way to the floor though!  But I will look into it..

Thanks

Sorry Maybe i should have said , but the cable is actually in control of the pedal if you like .

Basicly there should be 15 to 25 mm of free play at the pedal if not you need the cable adjusting to take up the slack if there is too much free play the pedal will be nearly at the floor . If you were to remove the cable the pedal would just hang on the floor as it has no support with out the cable .

Let us all know how you get on?
