clutch change - how hard can it be?

Evening all it looks like its time to replace my clutch :( . never done this before  :dontknow: so how hard is it? and any tips?
Also as I'm going to have the gearbox out what else should I check/change? don't want to go through all the work and then have to take it back out in another week!

pretty easy long winded thou, but what car or engine should i say

Sorry should have said she's a GTI running a 1.8 8v. Any tips on how to support the engine when the box is out? can I just support it on the sump?

i used a trolley jack to support the engine and another to help with the gearbox. needed help from a mate to support the weight of the box (Wraped rope round and support from top while i guide the box underneath) when removing and refitting the box. Apart from that its easy

Thanks for the help guys. Of on holiday at the weekend but will be my first job when I get back, might even treat her to a new gear linkage whilst I'm at it!
