Clutch cable

My clutch cable broke today the cable itself didn't brake but the plastic end that fits onto
the pedal.  Is it possible to change the plastic part as I have 1? doesn't look like to me.

Also does anyone know if a cable with a metal end piece rather than plastic ?

thats exactly what happened to me 2 days ago you better hope its just the clutch cable that plastic bit shouldnt break for no reason was your clutch very stiff before it broke? i dont think its possible to change just the plastic bit either

Yeah it is a heavy clutch but has always been, the engine is a G60.  Clutch hasn't been any heaver than usual of late, a metal pedal end piece would have ment me still having a working clutch cable.  Gonna fit another standard cable tomorrow and try and find a heaver duty one.

I read you had more serious problems, glad you got it sorted now.  Gotta keep them on the road!!!

Fitted the new cable with much awkwardness!!!  
Anyway after fitting i also couldn't engage gears, looked at the leaver that hits the push rod and the plastic seal that keeps the push rod central has perished and gone so the leaver cant hit it properly.  The push rod is still there, when yours failed did the push rod disapear into the gearbox ?  
Gonna look to change the seal and see if that sorts it, if not think theres promblems maybe the same as yours.

the rod would only disappear if the pressure plate went which as mrpurple says on the other thread that this is very uncommon, the norm is the 'finger' going, even a wee crack in it will make it not work, have you had the green cap off the box and had a proper look??

Got it sorted now made a seal for the push rod from some thick wall plastic pipe, adjusted the cable and all good!!!
