clutch banging

my clutch peddle catches and bangs on a couplink on the steering wheel thing under the dash(sorry i dont know the tecnical term)when i press the clutch down and im turning,ie in a car park.
any one else had this problem and know how to fix it?

Something is VERY wrong if your clutch pedal is catching on a part of the steering column! Maybe the clutch pedal is misfitted, the wrong one, bent or the whole pedal box is strangely bent, or the steering column is loose or otherwise mispositioned.

Basically, I can't see how on earth this has happened and sounds very dodgy!
